Mary Martin Mason
Minnesota Adoption Resource Network (MARN)
Executive Director

Mary Martin MasonMary Martin Mason is a national leader in adoption with extensive experience in open adoption and birth father research. She is the author of three books on adoption, a nationally recognized trainer and keynote speak, recipient of the 2008 President’s Award from the American Adoption Congress and other distinguished awards. She has been a mainstay at Minnesota Adoption Research Network in several roles over the past 8 years and has served on many boards both locally and nationally. Mary earned a BA in Journalism and is both an adoptee and an adoptive parent. Kate Ingalls-Maloney

Kate Ingalls-MaloneyPrior to stepping into her role as AHA Program Manager, Kate Ingalls-Maloney consulted with Minnesota Adoption Resource Network to help establish online training capability. She organized national conferences and workshops for Children’s Home Society & Family Services and worked in the Minnesota early intervention and public school systems developing resources and supports for families with children with special needs. Kate attended Wellesley College, Boston University and completed graduate work in Education (MA) at the University of St. Thomas. Last Event

AHA has hosted a variety of events including an Orphan Train Riders Recognition Day event at the Minnesota History Center; Transracial Truth, Healing and Reconciliation Forum facilitated by First Nations Orphan Association and co-sponsored by Metropolitan State University; an open mic and poetry reading “In Our Own Words: Mothers Remembered;” and an informal Adoptee Meet-Up for area adoptees to meet and share information about their groups and organizations.
